Decluttering isn’t just a way of getting rid of shit you don’t want or need anymore, it’s an amazing way to bring in more money, flow and abundance into your business too.
Here’s why:
When you declutter, you’re removing the old stagnant energy and creating space for new energy. Energy wants to flow and you can help it do just that by clearing space.
Decluttering isn’t just about the physical though; it helps to release energy emotionally, spiritually and mentally too. When it comes to our businesses, we need to breathe new energy into them to ensure we’re making room for more abundance.
Our businesses can get ‘messy’; meaning we do things or have stuff going on that no longer serves us anymore. Just like we would clean out our closet, we also need to declutter our business from time to time!
So today I want to share 4 areas of your business that you can declutter to start attracting more money with ease and generally feel more focused.
Warning: decluttering may become addictive and cause more abundance and flow in your business and life.
Ready? Let’s do this.
1 – Your physical workspace
This is a no brainer, but the space we work in should empower us and be an environment that matches how we want to feel in our business. There’s two ways to declutter your workspace.
Cleaning up and organising the general mess you have going on
I’m not going to lie, after a crazy workday my desk looks like a mini hurricane went through it. But I always make the time to tidy up before the next workday to make sure I’m starting my morning with a clean space and my countless Kikki K notebooks in order!
Where can you get more organised in your workspace?
Decluttering the stuff you have in your workspace
Do I really need that used notebook from 4 years ago? Hmm…probably not.
Getting rid of stuff in your workspace creates a free flow of energy in the space where you’re building your business and dream life…yep, it’s needed.
Start decluttering your workspace:
What can you throw out or give away in your workspace to create fresh energy and a new environment?
2 – Your tools, apps and software
The latest tool, app or piece of software is tempting to sign up for, especially when you see everyone talking about it. This area of any business is often a great place to declutter away the stuff you don’t use or need anymore.
Do you have any business tools, systems and software that you get charged for each month / year and every time that charge comes through on your bank statement you ask yourself; ‘why do I have this again?’
Whether it’s a paid tool or app or it’s free, think about what you’re using to run your business and whether you need ‘all of the things’.
Here’s a checklist to get you started:
Ask yourself:
Are they all still necessary? Is there an alternative? Do you really utilise these tools or are you paying for stuff you don’t need?
3 – Your subscriptions, social media and memberships
The online world is hella noisy. And often we create this noise ourselves by signing up to every webinar, newsletter and virtual summit there is. Combine this with a chock full social media feed and you’re halfway to crazy distraction town.
When you’re consumed with information it makes it hard for you to stay focused on your own game and business. It also makes your business busy and cluttered on a daily basis.
Needless to say, getting into decluttering mode for your subscriptions, memberships and social media is a great way to free up space and attract more of what you do want into your life (rather than another cat meme)
Here’s where to start:
4 – Your content, offers and old programs
Sometimes we end up offering stuff we don’t like to do anymore. Or we churn out content because ‘we’re known for that thing’. Well, sweet pea, I say no.
I invite you to really say no to doing the stuff you don’t like to do; whether that’s running that program, offering that 1:1 service or blogging about ‘x’ every. single. week.
This is your business and you get to make the rules.
When you start saying no to the services, offers and content that no longer serves your vision, you’ll start saying yes to what will.
Here’s where to start:
» Your services – even if you know you’re good at it, if you’re dreading or resenting the work, it’s best to declutter from your business model or repurpose into something new like recreating a business plan for a fresh start.
» Your products, programs and courses – if they don’t fit your vision anymore or they feel stale, stop running them (or think of ways to repurpose them)
» Your marketing materials – either recycle, trash or delete them if they are no longer needed
» Your content – do an audit of your blog and social media content and unpublish or repurpose anything that doesn’t represent your vision and build your brand to where you want to be
Tell me, what are you going to declutter right now in your business?
